Overview

Project Bald Eagle leads a regional coalition of organizations, community leaders, professionals and citizens working together to stem the tide of the heroin/opioid epidemic.

The roots of our federally-recognized coalition can be traced back to the early efforts of Lycoming County’s Heroin Task Force. Following the Center for Rural Pennsylvania’s 2014 hearings on the issue of heroin in our communities, Project Bald Eagle was formed and the task force was blended into the new initiative.

In January 2017, Project Bald Eagle and the Pennsylvania National Guard Counterdrug Joint Task Force entered a formal collaborative effort to develop the Regional Opioid Coalition Alliance that will span 18 counties of northeastern and north central Pennsylvania by 2020.
